Chris Conn was born and raised in Elizabeth, Colorado, a small town just outside of Denver. He was educated at Mesa State College in Grand Junction and won a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2001. He also spent time at the Colorado Institute of Art, focusing on audio/ video production.

In January of 1995, Chris was hand picked to fill the evening slot on a National radio network and the success of the show quickly became a ratings phenomenon. In October of 1999, Chris was also asked to join Great American Country (GAC), as the networks first video host. He hosted several shows including "Fast Forward", “”Top 20 Country Countdown” and "Hot Country Nights with the Conman". In 2005, Chris left GAC and started his own production company called, Conman Productions, specializing in producing country music videos.
